As a Retention Strategist at Structured, you'll have the opportunity to take the lead and run your own Pod. You'll have the freedom to exercise your own creativity and strategic thinking to develop innovative email and SMS marketing campaigns for some of the biggest names in e-commerce.

As a Retention Strategist you play a critical role in driving success for our clients. With three primary areas of focus, this is a dynamic and rewarding position that requires a strong blend of strategic thinking, relationship-building, and leadership skills.

First and foremost, as a Retention Strategist, you'll be responsible for leading the strategy and driving the performance of our client accounts. This will involve developing innovative email and SMS marketing campaigns, analyzing performance data, and making strategic adjustments to optimize campaign results.

In addition to driving performance, you'll also be responsible for developing and owning the client relationship. This will involve regular communication with the client to ensure that their needs are being met and that they are delighted with the results. You'll need to be a skilled communicator who can build trust and rapport with clients while reporting on campaign performance and communicating strategies and results to critical stakeholders. You'll need to be skilled in data analysis and interpretation, as well as in presenting insights and recommendations to both internal and external audiences. You'll also be responsible for managing client expectations and ensuring that they are kept up to date on progress and results, with a strong focus on client satisfaction and results-driven outcomes.

Finally, as a Retention Strategist, you'll have the opportunity to provide leadership and mentorship to your internal Pod team. This will involve delegating to team members, providing guidance and feedback while empowering them to own their work.

  • Build a robust and innovative email strategy that focuses on personalized messaging, churn prevention and lifecycle campaigns to drive demand and list growth
  • Plan an A/B testing roadmap to frequently drive ongoing campaign optimization across all email functions
  • Be a strong cross functional partner with key stakeholders to drive channel success, including our internal creative team, integrated marketing, client stakeholders and partners.
  • Be a strong, confident, and visionary team lead, with the capability to translate strategy into action

This is a full-time, fully remote role.
Salary Range: $95,000 - $100,000 annual salary


  • 5+ years experience preferred in lifecycle and retention marketing
  • Experience with strategic planning, client services, email marketing production and end-to-end campaign management, ideally in an agency or freelance setting
  • Deep knowledge of email marketing, loyalty programs, referral marketing, and other customer engagement tactics
  • Hands-on experience with the top ESPs (Klaviyo, SFMC,, etc.) and SMS platforms, familiarity or expertise with the top integrations and apps in the space
