Are you a content and audience-focused marketing and communications professional with skills in advancing brand awareness?


GlobalGiving UK, a highly-regarded nonprofit on a mission to accelerate community-led change around the world, is looking for a skilled marcomms individual to join the GlobalGiving UK team. This person will support the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications in producing compelling content that achieves media coverage, leading to stronger relationships with our two core audiences: major donors and corporate partners and ultimately driving volume.


The right candidate for this position will be able to spot a news-worthy story and write it, with our target audiences in mind. We are looking for someone who will engage with our audiences to value GlobalGiving as the go-to destination for making the world a better place. A team player, you are inquisitive, love to write on different platforms for a variety of audiences and engage with our followers on email and LinkedIn.


The UK Marcomms team is newly founded and this will be the second position within the team. This is an exciting role for an individual who is looking for autonomy and an opportunity to put forward creative ideas to get our message across to a wider audience. We tell the GlobalGiving story, strengthening and advancing brand awareness within the UK and EMEA and work closely with the US Marcomms team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Planning, producing, and delivering compelling content for press releases and digital platforms and channels with a focus on developing targeted communications with major donors and corporate audiences
  • Help develop marketing, PR and content strategies to optimise fundraising campaigns, such as The Cost of Living Crisis
  • Social media management, specifically: grow and engage our audience by crafting and posting content for GlobalGiving UK’s LinkedIn account
  • Assist in writing, proofreading, and sending tailored marketing emails to a growing target audience
  • Track and report digital marketing efforts, identifying potential areas for focus and improvement
  • Keep on top of current news and digital trends, and research and recommend new ways to engage with our audiences
  • The opportunity to set a communications strategy and build new functions in the UK / EMEA
  • As our digital channels are developed in the UK and EMEA, the growing responsibility of driving traffic to our website and/or digital platforms

Requirements

Experience and Skills


For our team to be a great fit for you, the following skills and experience should resonate with you:

  • At least 5 years of experience working in a communications focused role, agency-side or in-house, preferably with a multi-audience context
  • Proven experience and success in PR, content marketing, social media marketing, communications, or related field
  • Experience in creating compelling content for digital platforms – including social media, content marketing, and email
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with content management systems
  • Strong organisational and collaboration skills
  • Skilled collaborator who can work well with others and build good relationships with leaders, staff and stakeholders
  • A passionate belief in GlobalGiving’s mission and a commitment to our core values

Desired Experience


In addition, the ideal candidate would also have some or all of the following skills or interests:

  • Interest in news, international affairs
  • Strong intercultural competence
  • Demonstrated fluency in multimedia content creation and experience using multimedia storytelling tools including Canva, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience volunteering or working in nonprofit communications
  • Previous experience of devising and implementing an influencer marketing strategy

Salary + Benefits
Starting salary range: £40k - 44k

Location
Home-based with travel to team meetings and networking events. Currently expect 1-2 team meetings per month to be held in central London. The post-holder may, now and again, be expected to travel for limited periods in the UK or abroad.
