T2 Tech is recruiting for a AWS / Data Lake Engineer to consult on behalf of T2 at one of their prestigious clients in Los Angeles. This hospital is a leader in the healthcare space as well as a premier teaching hospital. The AWS / Data Lake Engineer will be primarily responsible for the architecture, build, maintenance and support efforts of the clients data and analytics platform, Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) running in AWS. This is a direct hire with T2 Tech Group.

Requirements

  • The Cloudera/AWS Engineer will be primarily responsible for the architecture, build, maintenance and support efforts of the clients data and analytics platform, Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) running in AWS
  • The primary responsibility will be supporting all aspects of the AWS environment including compute, storage, and network that hosts CDP
  • Secondary responsibilities will be provisioning new systems and data experiences, patching, configuration, and troubleshooting of the CDP environment
  • Responsible for overall architecture and engineering of CDP/AWS and ensuring the requirements are met for all key stakeholders
  • Monitoring performance and troubleshooting with data analytics stakeholders will be a big part of the job.
  • Identify infrastructure and security issues and develop plans to fix or report to the relevant teams
  • Set up new data pipeline using nifi for data ingestion from source systems
  • Manage Ranger policies in alignment with security and privacy requirements
  • Work closely with IS teams as needed to support growing functionality of the data lake

  • Experience working with Hadoop data lakes preferably with a Cloudera or Hortonworks environment
  • Strong understanding of network protocols
  • Proficient in SQL and the tuning queries to run the most efficiently
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team made up of other infrastructure engineers
  • Ability to write and/or modify simple scripts, using scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, bash, etc
  • Work extended or off-hours, when necessary, in order to address unforeseen issues and/or to see a project or task to completion
